Welcome aboard Rock & Roll Rebel Radio! I'm Melissa D. and will be your conductor every Sunday evening, 10PM‐1AM, where I'll roll us back in time to the roots of rock, taking this crazy train ride from the 1950s through the '70s, and, derailing us off a bit into the '80s.
I open the vinyl vault at the top of the 11 o'clock hour, playing some songs from my personal vinyl collection. Future destination plans include: one hit wonders, a‐z songs/artists, originals/renditions, specific subgenre focused, year or decade specific, "Home Grown Roots", which includes interviews with personal friends who are musicians, and other plans not thought of at the moment. I have been listening to music for as long as I can remember, growing up during the time when the rock genre tracks were starting to expand, setting the foundation for all the music I listen to today, which is basically everything, but, the 1980s had laid down the groundwork on a specific genre that I always hold near and dear to my heart. That genre is Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. I got my start in radio through two college radio stations: Blue Colt Radio at Middlesex College, Edison, NJ, and The ARC Radio Club, where I had been Treasurer, then, President, at Arcadia University, Glenside, PA.
After my 2018 Internship at Central New Jersey's Magic 98.3 and sister station, 1450 WCTC Talk Radio (Beasley Media Group), I was hired in the Promotions Department for both stations, and, as an On‐Air Personality for Magic.
We all know what happened in 2020, but I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, and I am beyond blessed to be working here at WRDV/WLBS‐FM and playing music that YOU want to hear!
